We have a bear skull displayed in our living room that my partner found and cleaned up. It was imperative that I had a bear skull added to my skull series. I'm not sure if you could grow crystals on a skull but I think it would be pretty remarkable. 
If you don't like the hanger you can unscrew it and add your own hanger, or add it to a display case.
